Lands of Hesbaye

Being color blind, long time it held me back from being engaged into artist works to express my emotion towards the world. Moving into Hesbaye, a region poetically called “wheat granary of Belgium”, has changed my mind. This part of Belgium is a rich land suitable for vegetables, cereals and fruit growing and agriculture is ubiquitous and draws the landscape.

Many people think this nourishing land is monotonous, boring and sad but I believe we should stop by a little to discover all the powerful design resulting from human activities. Self-taught since 2014, I’m mainly interested in black and white photography with strong graphics and mood. Currently I am working on a series “Lands of Hesbaye” which pictures are mostly taken in my direct surroundings, less than 10 Km from my home at Remicourt.
