ELIGIBILITY
BNW Minimalist Photography Prize is open to all Photographers: Amateur and Professional from all over the world. Anyone over 18 years of age can enter the competition with the exception of employees of the B&W Minimalist Photography Prize, their associated companies and employees of any company chosen to sponsor prizes for the competition.
COPYRIGHT & USAGE RIGHTS
Copyright and all other rights remain that of the photographer. Any photograph used by BNW Minimalist Photography Prize shall carry the photographer’s credit line. Use may include publication in any BNW Minimalist Photography Prize media sponsor publication. All entrants understand that any image submitted to the competition may be used by BNW Minimalist Photography Prize for marketing and promotional purposes including in any media such as exhibitions, print and digital media directly related to the BNW Minimalist Photography Prize competition, though there may not be monetary compensation. By Winning or placing in the competition you are agreeing to be included in the winners’ annual.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
To enter the competition, you must submit your entries to the Competition URL, www.minimalismmag.com/prize Participants must also pay the entry fee(s) and complete the submission form in order to be considered for the competition.
All photographers must submit their work online. Digital files are required. Prints are not accepted as part of the competition.
There is no limit to the number of individual images each artist may submit.
Images may be captured using film or digital.
Artificial intelligence-generated images are not eligible for submission.
You can submit as many entries as you like. However, once the submission fee is paid, you will not be able to edit, change, or replace new image.
There is no time or date restriction on when the image was taken.
Winning Entrants must be able to provide a high resolution digital file (minimum 3000px wide@300dpi). This file will be used only to prove the ownership of the image. Winning Entrants who do not fulfill these eligibility criteria will be deemed ineligible and disqualified without the right to appeal.
All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrant must be the sole copyright owner of all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries (or their parents/guardians if children under 16 are featured). Further, the entrant must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.
The full name of each entrant whose work is selected as a winner, Honorable mention will be published online.
All winners will have the opportunity to download their certificates 2 Months after the final deadline, all certificates will be cleared. If you have not received your certificate within the designated time, please contact us by email.
IMAGE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Digital images should be no larger than 3MB per image. Save as JPG compression High, 72 dpi, 1,600 pixels on the longest side.
Name the file with your last name, first name following by title of the image, For example Kenna_Michael_Imagetitle01. Please do not use symbols or spaces in the file name.
No signature, stamp or any other identifying mark is allowed anywhere on the entry.
PRIZE
Cash prizes will be paid in USD by PayPal. Any fees incurred for foreign currency transfers will be deducted from the winning amount. There are no alternatives available for prize winners.
JUDGING CONDITIONS
Entries will be judged by nominated judges.
The decision of the BNW Minimalist Photography Prize is final.
Winners will be announced one month after the close of the final submission deadline has closed.
Q: I wonder if you accept color images?
A: No, We accept Black and white images. We also accept toned images like sepia.
Q: Can I enter an image that has already been published in B&W Minimalism Magazine?
A: Yes, both published and unpublished work is accepted.
Q: Can I submit images created using artificial intelligence (AI) to the contest?
A: No, AI-generated images are not eligible for submission. Only original works created by photographers are allowed.
Q: Why are AI works not eligible for the contest?
A: The contest aims to celebrate the artistic expression and creativity of photographers. The use of AI in creating or processing images may not fully reflect the unique vision, skill, and creativity of photographers.
Q: Can I enter an image that won other competitions?
A: Images that have won prizes in other competitions or that have been submitted to other competitions currently underway are eligible.
Q: Is there a limit to the number of the entries that I can enter ?
A: No, you may enter as many entries as you like.
Q: Is there a time limit on when the photograph was taken?
A: No, there are no restrictions on the date of a photograph.
Q: Can I add a signature or logo on my image?
A: No signature, stamp or any other identifying mark is allowed anywhere on the entry.
Q: I’m having problems uploading data.
A: Please read the instructions on the entry form again. If you are unable to resolve the problem after reading the instructions, send an e-mail inquiry to prize@minimalismmag.com.

Q: Can I make changes to my entry after I have paid?
A: No, after payment has been made, entries cannot be edited.
Q: How can I pay for the photographs that I submit?
A: There is only one options to pay for your submissions: Online: You may pay for your entry after you submit your photographs through PayPal. (Once a submission fee has been paid, there are no refunds provided)
Q: What are my submission fees used for?
A: Revenue from the submission fees goes to the cost of prizes, exhibitions, administration, and promotion,
Q: How will my images be used?
A: You will be contacted each time we identify an image for usage – and briefed on what the usage will be. Your images are never used for any purpose other than the promotion of the B&W Minimalist Photography Prize.
Q: How do I know if you received my entry?
A: After paying the fee the status of the photo changes to “Pending review” which will be converted into “Approved” after revision and verification by editors. If the status of the registered photo doesn’t change to Approved until 48 hours after payment, send an email to Prize@Minimalismmag.com.
Q: I didn’t win an award. Please tell me the reason.
A: We cannot provide evaluations or comments for individual submitted works.
Q: How do I know if I’ve won an award?
A: Though we do notify award winners by email, sometimes notifications get caught in server or mail filters. Fortunately, you can always check to see if you’ve won any awards by logging into the member profile and clicking on “Your entries”.
Q: Are the selected works in “best of show” exhibition considered for sale?
A: The selected works to show in exhibition are considered for sale in case of the artist acceptance.
Q: When and how are the results announced?
A: Winners will be announced one month after the close of the final submission deadline has closed.
BNW Minimalist Photography Prize will contact the winners via e-mail at their registered e-mail addresses.
Entry fees cover the cost of prizes, exhibitions, administration, and promotion.
