Andrej Šafhalter, Maribor, Slovenia, b. 1971, is an amateur photographer. For him, taking pictures is about getting away from the everyday hubbub, stress, impatience and anxiety of people. He always works solo.Inspired by minimalism in nature and relations between the animate and inanimate, he is also drawn to trees that symbolise human relationships. Once he snaps the button, the clutter of everyday life and stress just melt away.
He enters his safe place, where he feels relaxed, comfortable and welcome. Photography takes him back to his childhood and moments from bygone days, weeks and years.
